Time to Cook began in 2018 when my Mum, Rosemary, and I started running cookery classes for children in our local church hall. We’re both teachers, we both love working with children and Mum is an amazing cook, so it felt like the perfect combination.
Our classes moved online, we built a lovely community and baked A LOT of banana bread!
After lockdown, we returned to face-to-face classes, workshops and birthday parties, and welcomed Kat and Shell to the Time to Cook team. Then life changed and Time to Cook had to take a little pause.
But I never stopped teaching cookery. I’ve continued to teach young people online and in the community, and it reminded me just how much I love helping children discover what they can create in the kitchen.
The Time to Cook Club is an online cookery club for young people, helping them to cook delicious food from scratch, explore seasonal ingredients and build confidence in the kitchen.
And Mum is still very much part of it! She’ll be helping me develop and test our recipes, bringing her years of cooking experience and plenty of delicious ideas to the kitchen.
Together, we want to inspire the next generation to enjoy cooking, try new things and develop skills they’ll use for life.
